Dr. Chad BeardenDr. Chad Bearden is excited to officially join his family’s practice as a full time veterinarian. Chad knew early on that he would follow in his dad’s footsteps and call Veterinary Medicine his career, as he always felt passionate about animal sciences and helping pets heal.

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Bearden grew up in Central Florida. He graduated from Florida State University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and chemistry. In 2012 he graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. The following year he completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Red Bank Animal Hospital in New Jersey.

Dr. Bearden and his wife Tina, also a veterinarian, have spent the past 3 years residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They quickly fell in love with city-life in Pittsburgh and loved their time exploring and working in such a fantastic town.

While in Pittsburgh, Dr. Bearden worked with a Specialty Hospital concentrating on Emergency Medicine. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, oncology, and clinical pathology. Dr. Bearden is a member in good standing with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (WPVMA), the Florida Veterinary Association (FVMA) and the Central Florida Veterinary Medical Association (CFVMA).

Dr. Bearden and his family will miss the city-life but are thrilled to be back in his hometown near family and continuing to practice veterinary care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their two pets, dog Lucy, cat Lily and their beloved first child, a son, who joined their family at the end of 2019. Dr. Bearden’s personal interests include travelling, the outdoors, college football, wood working, and of course the LSU Tigers, He admits though, that they all now come second to his son!

CLINIC CLOSURE UPDATE:
Due to Hurricane Ian, our clinic will be closing at 12:00pm Wednesday September 28th. We will be back open for business FRIDAY morning pending unforeseeable circumstances. We appreciate your understanding, and are hoping everyone gets through this storm safely and quickly.

If you have an emergency during this time you can contact the Veterinary Emergency Clinic at 407-644-4449

At this time the best thing you can do to prepare your pet is have plenty of food and water set aside for them, let them outside before rain starts, and keep them nearby and feeling safe with no available exits during the storm. Thank you!
