Dr. Chad Michael Bearden has been a part of his family’s practice since the very beginning. Although he and his wife lived in Pittsburgh when NOAH started in 2017, he flew into town monthly to help out as a part time veterinarian. In June of 2020, he officially became a full time Associate! When asked what he most proud of about working at NOAH, he states that he enjoys the ability to spend time with clients and their pets. He feels it allows trust to grow as he and his clients make both easy and tough desicions together. He also admits that he loves seeing puppies and kittens!
Chad knew early on that he would follow in his dad’s footsteps and call Veterinary Medicine his career as he always felt passionate about animal sciences and helping pets heal.
Although he was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Chad grew up in Longwood, Florida, and graduated with honors from Lake Brantley High School. He graduated from Florida State University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and chemistry. In 2012 he graduated with a doctorate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. The following year he completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Red Bank Animal Hospital in New Jersey.
Dr. Bearden and his wife Tina, also a veterinarian, had spent 2 years in New Jersy, 1 year in Ft Lauderdale and 5 years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before returning to Orlando. Dr Chad shares that these moves and exposure to different practice areas allowed he and his wife to pursue both personal and professional goals. They returned to Florida to be closer to both of their families.
Chad’s professional interests include all types of surgery, oncology, and clinical pathology. He is a member in good standing with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), the Western Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (WPVMA), the Florida Veterinary Association (FVMA) and the Central Florida Veterinary Medical Association (CFVMA).
Dr. Bearden shares that he has wanted to be a Veterinarian as long as he can remember. he spent years watching his dad and sharing his dad’s passion for animals and their care. Regrettably in 2023, Chad and Tina lost both of their long term pets. Lucy (K9) was his hip/shadow for 13 years and Lily, the cat, was with him through Vet school and all their many moves. They are looking forward to adding a few new pets this year – right after they master the chasing of their two young sons.
Outside of work, he enjoys “hanging with his wife, and their two sons”. Dr. Bearden’s personal interests include travelling, college football, wood working, video games, and of course the LSU Tigers. He admits though, that they all now come second to his two boys! He looks forward to introducing his sons to his love for travelling and while it’s a tough question to answer, feels that his favorite travel destinations to date are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan and Ireland.
